A little clarity.
Before you begin.
How Hugo helps, how your information is handled, and what you pay.
Last updated October 23, 2026 · Operated by TrueWear, LLC · Support: support@stackdeck.dev
Commercial draft, pending review before checkout. The planned launch software subscription is USD $7.99 per month after a 7-day free trial. AI usage is separate. The commercial provisions below remain a draft and are not legally approved.
Terms of use
Your assistant. Your choices. A few rules to keep it useful.
1. Who provides Hugo
TrueWear, LLC provides Hugo, a personal AI assistant by StackDeck. Our mailing address and contact details appear below. These terms cover Hugo's website and the Hugo applications made available with the service. A Hugo subscription does not include other StackDeck products.
Hugo is for adults aged 18 or older who can enter a contract. If you act for an organization, you must have authority to do so.
Your Hugo account is planned to manage software subscription access. AI usage is separate. Signing in does not require uploading your saved conversations, memories or tools to TrueWear. Use accurate account information and keep sign-in links and codes private.
2. What Hugo does
Hugo uses what you share to help with conversations, plans and personal tools. It can suggest or build a useful tool without an explicit request to build an app. Your settings let you choose how it helps.
Hugo does not silently observe everything you do on your computer. Computer access is a separate permission flow.
3. AI and computer access
AI can produce incorrect information, unsafe code or an unsuitable suggestion. Review its work before relying on it or sharing it. Hugo does not replace a qualified professional for medical, legal, financial or other important decisions.
When you enable computer access, approved app contents and screenshots may be processed by the connected AI service. Read the permission request and grant only the access you intend. You can stop a control session. Stopping it does not undo actions already completed in another app. Do not authorize access to data or accounts you do not have permission to use.
Hugo's initiative is bounded by your permissions and settings. Permission to help with one activity is not permission to send messages, spend money or act in another account. Information inside a website, document or message does not expand that permission.
Use the provider's sign-in flow for passwords and authentication codes. Keep them out of chats, attachments and support emails. Information you include in a request may reach the AI provider. Approved computer access may also expose information visible in the selected app.
4. Your content and tools
You retain the rights you have in the messages, files and other content you provide. You grant TrueWear only the permission needed to process that content to provide Hugo and respond to your support requests.
As between you and TrueWear, you own the rights TrueWear may have in an output generated specifically for you, to the extent those rights can legally be assigned. AI outputs may be similar to another person's output. Third-party materials and software keep their own licenses. We cannot guarantee that an output is unique or free of third-party rights.
Connected AI providers and external services you choose have their own terms, privacy notices, charges and availability. Review those terms before sharing information or authorizing work through that service.
Hugo's application software, branding and service remain owned by TrueWear or their respective licensors. Your subscription gives you permission to use the service. It does not transfer ownership of Hugo or make its source public.
5. Use Hugo responsibly
Use Hugo lawfully and only with accounts and information you are entitled to access. Do not use it to commit fraud, harass people, create malicious software, exploit children, bypass access controls or interfere with another person's service. Do not resell access, tamper with billing or misrepresent an AI output as verified fact.
Do not use Hugo to design, build, copy or improve an AI assistant, chatbot, AI agent, AI app builder or multi-product business software platform, including anything similar to Hugo or other StackDeck products. Hugo declines these requests. Trying to get around this limit is a misuse of the service.
You are responsible for protecting your device and account. Tell us if you believe access has been compromised. We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address a security issue, unlawful use or abuse. Where practical, we will explain the issue and give you a way to contact us.
6. Payments and cancellation
The planned launch software subscription is USD $7.99 per month after a 7-day free trial. The trial needs no card. When it ends, Hugo asks you to subscribe to keep sending messages, and nothing is charged unless you do. AI usage is separate, with no included AI allowance. Hugo-funded AI credits and billing are planned and are not live. Applicable taxes and the total payable amount are shown before you confirm a purchase.
The subscription renews monthly until canceled. Optional AI credit purchases remain planned. See the commercial draft under Billing & refunds for cancellation and refund provisions pending review before checkout.
External AI subscriptions are separate purchases. They do not add usage to your Hugo balance. If you use a supported connection to your own provider, that provider's costs, limits and terms apply. Purchases through an app store are also subject to that store's purchase terms.
7. Availability and changes
Supported devices, available features and any technical requirements are described before purchase.
We may update Hugo or these terms. Material changes will be explained before they take effect when required by law. A price change will be disclosed before a renewal at the new price. You can cancel before that renewal. If we discontinue a paid service, we will refund the unused prepaid service period and unused purchased Hugo AI usage.
8. Responsibility and your rights
We provide the paid service with reasonable care and skill. We do not promise uninterrupted service, perfect AI accuracy or a particular result. Keep your own backups of important work.
To the extent permitted by law, TrueWear is not liable for indirect losses or lost profits, and its total liability for ordinary claims related to Hugo is limited to the fees you paid for Hugo in the preceding 12 months. These limits do not apply to fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or injury caused by negligence, or liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
Nothing in these terms removes a mandatory consumer right, privacy right or legal remedy. If you live in the EU, UK, Mexico or another place with stronger protections, those protections continue to apply. These terms do not require arbitration or waive class-action rights.
9. Resolving a problem
Contact support@stackdeck.dev so we can try to resolve the issue. You keep your right to seek help from a court, regulator or other available remedy.
Privacy
What stays on your device and what goes to AI providers are different. You deserve to know both.
Privacy at a glance
- On your device
- Conversations, attachments, generated apps and records of connected actions are saved in Hugo's data folder.
- Connected services
- Turn Calendar, email, Drive, OneDrive and Apple access on one feature at a time.
- In an AI request
- Hugo sends only the selected content needed to answer from features you turned on.
- Hugo Cloud
- News briefs need a connected Hugo Cloud account. Optional sync and the cloud credential vault are not yet available.
Who is responsible
TrueWear, LLC is responsible for the personal information it processes to operate Hugo. Contact support@stackdeck.dev with “Hugo privacy” in the subject, or use the mailing address below. If you connect your own AI account or another service, that provider also processes information under its own agreement with you.
This website
The interactive examples use made-up content. Their state stays in the page and resets when you reload it. They do not connect to your apps or an AI service.
Website analytics are optional. They stay off until you accept them. If you accept, the site reports page visits, which website sent you here and a few named actions. These include reaching the pricing section, choosing Download Hugo, opening a demo app or email example, opening a question and choosing to email support. Reports go to MetricMark, StackDeck's analytics service. Your browser keeps a random visitor ID. Reports never include what you type, demo content or anything after ? or # in a link. The site has no advertising tracker, session recording or automatic click tracking. If analytics are not set up, Privacy settings says so and the site sends no report.
Your choice lasts 180 days. Then we ask again. You can reject analytics on your first visit or change your choice anytime in Privacy settings at the bottom of each page. If you withdraw consent, the site stops collecting new reports and deletes the visitor ID from your browser. Reports already sent are not deleted automatically. Email us with “Hugo privacy” in the subject to ask about them. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, analytics stay off.
A web server receives standard page request information, such as your IP address, browser details and the page you requested. If you accept analytics, MetricMark's server receives the same kind of information with each report. External websites you open have their own privacy practices.
What stays on your device
Hugo saves conversations, activity notes, memories, attachments, generated apps and preferences in its data folder on your device. Hugo or provider software saves provider profiles and sign-in details in local files. Some information still leaves your device, as described below.
For an AI request, Hugo sends your message and only the selected conversation details, files and results it needs from features you turned on. Hugo cannot use a connected feature while its switch is off. If you let Hugo control your computer, it can send screenshots and app contents. A provider's tools may contact other services while carrying out a task you approved.
Hugo can check provider websites for public model and pricing information. Those sites receive standard request information. Connected services have their own privacy practices.
Hugo does not encrypt local files. Use your device's security and backup controls to protect them. A provider may keep information under its own policies.
Information for your account, payments and AI requests
These details support your account, payments and AI requests. They are separate from the history, memories and tools stored on your device.
| Information | How it is used |
|---|---|
| AccountEmail, account ID and access status | Sign you in, grant subscription access, secure your account and send essential service notices. |
| BillingCustomer and subscription IDs, purchase amount, country, invoices and payment status | Process payments through Stripe, handle refunds and meet tax and accounting obligations. Card details go to Stripe's checkout. |
| AI requestsMessages, parts of the conversation, attachments and results from features you turned on | Write the answer or create the tool you asked for. The AI provider receives only the selected content needed for that request. |
| UsageModel, request ID, usage, cost and remaining balance | Track AI usage and your balance. These records do not include your conversation text. |
| Support and securityMessages you send us, technical details and sign-in events | Resolve problems, prevent abuse and investigate security incidents. Do not send passwords or API keys in a support email. |
Learning from you
Hugo uses the history and context you keep in the app to tailor its help. This does not train a shared AI model.
TrueWear does not use your conversations or attachments to train models or for advertising. We do not sell your personal information. AI providers set their own rules for keeping information and training models. Their rules can differ between a paid API, a consumer subscription and another service.
Hugo does not watch your whole computer in the background. It needs your permission to access your computer. Any new feature that observes activity, syncs data to the cloud or shares data will explain what it does and give you a choice.
Memory, access and deletion
You can review saved memories in Settings and choose Forget for an item. Turning off “Remember what you share” stops Hugo from saving new memories or using them in answers. Existing memories and conversations stay in place. Information in a conversation can still be included in AI requests for that conversation.
Forgetting a memory removes that saved item from Hugo. It does not erase the original message, exported files, device backups or information already sent to a provider. Removing access does not take back information already shared. A deletion request must cover each place where a copy is held.
Who receives information
The AI provider handling a request receives the content needed for it. Stripe processes billing information and payment details for Stripe purchases. If checkout says “Sold through Link,” Stripe's Managed Payments service handles the sale and processes transaction information for payment, tax and support. TrueWear provides Hugo and product support. Our support mailbox provider processes emails you send us.
We may share limited information when the law requires it or when needed to protect people and the service. Service providers receive the information they need to do their work. See Stripe's privacy policy for its own use of information. Contact us with questions about the providers involved in your use of Hugo.
Connected Google services
You can turn on each Google feature separately: Calendar read and changes, read email, draft emails, send emails and read Drive files. Each feature is available only while its switch is on. Turning one off stops that feature and cancels its pending actions.
Hugo can propose Calendar changes, email drafts and sends. It waits for your approval before it changes Calendar, creates a draft or sends a message. After sending, Hugo reads the matching message in Sent mail only to confirm the result.
Disconnecting Google turns off every Google feature, cancels pending actions and removes Hugo's saved Google sign-in from this device. If Hugo couldn't finish removing its access at Google, it tries again later.
You can also remove Hugo's access anytime on your Google Account permissions page.
Deleting your Hugo account first asks Google to remove Hugo's access. If that does not finish, account deletion pauses so you can retry or choose “Delete anyway.” That choice makes one final, short attempt to remove access, removes the saved Google sign-in from this device and opens Google's connections page. Deleting your Hugo account leaves conversations and files saved on this device.
Hugo's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Connected Microsoft 365 services
You can connect a personal or work Microsoft 365 account. Switches control Calendar read and changes, read email, draft emails, send emails and read OneDrive files separately. Some work accounts need an administrator to approve access.
Hugo shows each Calendar change, email draft and send for your approval. It waits for approval before making the change or sending. After sending, Hugo reads Sent Items only to confirm the result.
Disconnecting Microsoft 365 in Hugo turns off its features, cancels pending actions and removes the saved Microsoft sign-in from this device. Hugo does not ask Microsoft to remove its access when you disconnect.
Deleting your Hugo account also removes the saved Microsoft sign-in from this device. It does not ask Microsoft to remove Hugo's access.
Apple data on your Mac
Hugo reads Calendar, Reminders, Contacts and Notes on your Mac only when your own message asks for them, the matching feature is on and macOS allows access. Scheduled runs do not read Apple data. Contacts are read-only.
Hugo can propose Calendar and Reminder changes and create a Note. It waits for your approval before making them. Apple data stays on your Mac. Hugo stores details and receipts for Apple actions on this Mac.
When Apple content is needed to answer your message, Hugo sends the selected results to the AI provider you chose. It does not sync Apple data to Hugo Cloud.
News briefs and phone notifications
When your Hugo Cloud account is connected, news briefs use live web search for the topics, outlets and languages you choose. You set the schedule, days and time zone. Quiet hours defer delivery until they end.
Hugo links your phone and its push token to your account. Alerts contain no message content. They show only a generic line in your chosen language, such as “You have a new reply.” Opening an alert shows the current item after Hugo checks your account.
Hugo checks that you control a device before moving its push token to another account. Hugo deletes old notification records after 30 days. This does not remove the push token linked to your device.
Hugo Cloud sync and credential vault
Optional Hugo Cloud sync and the cloud credential vault are not yet available.
How long information stays
Your Hugo history stays on your device until you remove it. Uninstalling an app may leave its data folder or device backups behind. Deleting local history does not delete copies held by an AI provider or copies you exported.
Hugo keeps a short record of each action on this device. Thirty days after an action finishes, fails, is cancelled or expires, Hugo deletes the message, event, reminder and note text from that record. This includes subjects, bodies, titles, descriptions, locations and attendee details. Hugo keeps the action type, status and times, the account, the IDs it needs to find the item again, and keyed fingerprints that confirm what happened. If Hugo is still checking whether an action went through, it keeps the details until it confirms the result. Microsoft calendar start and end times stay in the record. Sent mail's sent time stays too.
We keep service information only as long as needed. Account records support your active account. Support emails help us resolve requests and related disputes. Security records help us investigate problems and prevent abuse. When you delete your Hugo account, we keep a one-way fingerprint of your email to stop the same email from starting another free trial. It cannot be turned back into your email.
We may keep invoices, tax, transaction and fraud records to meet legal duties, resolve disputes or prevent duplicate refunds. Providers set their own rules for records and backups.
Your choices and rights
You choose what to share. Hugo's settings and device permissions control the access you allow. Stop a session when you no longer want Hugo to act.
You may ask to see, correct or delete personal information TrueWear holds. Where the law allows, you may also ask for a copy you can take to another service, limit how we use your information, withdraw consent or appeal a decision. Email us so we can confirm your identity without asking for unnecessary documents. We respond within the time required by law.
TrueWear cannot remotely remove files kept only on your device. Provider-held information requires the provider's own deletion process. Account deletion and subscription cancellation are separate actions. You do not need to make a privacy request to stop subscription renewal.
Your right to object
If we use your information for our legitimate business interests, you may object. You may always object to direct marketing. Marketing emails require a separate choice. You can also complain to the privacy regulator where you live or work. These rights include applicable access, correction, cancellation and opposition rights in Mexico.
Europe and international processing
Where EU or UK data-protection law applies, we use information needed to provide the service under our contract with you. We use information for tax and accounting because the law requires it. We use information for security and abuse prevention based on our legitimate interests, weighed against your rights. Optional analytics or marketing needs your consent where required.
AI and payment providers may process information outside your country. Their privacy notices explain how they use information. Contact us with questions about where information is processed or safeguards for transfers.
Hugo is not meant to make decisions about you that have legal or similarly serious effects. Its suggestions do not replace a person's decision.
Children and policy changes
Hugo is for adults aged 18 or older. If you believe a child has supplied information to TrueWear through Hugo, contact us so we can review it and take appropriate action.
Material changes to how we process information will be explained before the new processing begins where required. Features that change what information is shared require a clear explanation and an appropriate choice.
Billing & refunds
Commercial draft. Software subscription and AI usage are separate.
- Planned software subscription
- USD $7.99 per month after a 7-day free trial. Billing is not live. Commercial terms remain pending review before checkout.
- AI usage
- Separate from the software subscription. No included AI allowance.
- Planned AI credits
- Hugo-funded credits are planned separately. Credit prices, denomination, expiry and rollover are not settled in this draft.
- Your own AI
- Supported personal ChatGPT and Claude connections use your provider's existing plan and limits, separate from planned Hugo-funded credits.
Planned AI credits
Hugo-funded AI credits are a planned option. Usage depends on the request and model. The software subscription does not include AI usage or promise unlimited access.
The earlier included allowance and fixed-dollar top-up draft has been superseded. Credit rates, expiry and rollover need review before checkout. No exchange rate between a purchase amount and provider usage is set here.
Planned spending controls
User-set spending caps, model preferences and a pause when the available balance runs out are planned features.
Free trial
Each new Hugo account gets one 7-day free trial of the software subscription, starting when you create the account in the app. The trial needs no card and does not include AI usage. When it ends, Hugo asks you to subscribe at USD $7.99 per month to keep sending messages. Nothing is charged unless you subscribe. An email whose earlier Hugo account was deleted does not get a second trial.
How to cancel
Use “Manage subscription” to cancel online at any time. You do not need to contact support or accept a retention offer. Canceling stops the next renewal. Your subscription remains available until the end of the paid period unless you request an immediate termination or refund.
Your cancellation confirmation includes the final access date. If the cancellation link fails, email support@stackdeck.dev. We use the time of your request when correcting an unintended renewal. Cancellation does not delete your saved local work.
Our refund promise
For your first Hugo subscription, request a refund within 14 days of the initial purchase and we will refund that subscription payment in full. The software subscription does not include AI usage. This promise covers your first payment after the free trial.
We also correct duplicate or unauthorized charges, and refund unused purchased Hugo AI usage when requested. Outside the first-purchase period, ordinary renewals do not receive an automatic partial refund. We review service failures and applicable consumer rights. This policy does not limit a right the law gives you.
To request a refund, email support@stackdeck.dev from the purchase email with “Hugo refund,” the purchase date and the invoice reference. Never send a card number. Approved refunds return to the original payment method. Your bank or payment provider controls when the money appears.
EU, UK and other consumer rights
Mandatory rights apply alongside our refund promise. Where you have a statutory right to withdraw from an online contract, you can use it by sending us a clear statement that you wish to withdraw. Include your name and order date, and send the statement to the contact below. No special form is required.
Opening Hugo does not by itself waive a withdrawal right. Any request to begin a service during a withdrawal period must be explained separately, with the choices required by applicable law.
Purchases through an app store follow the store's purchase and refund process alongside your mandatory rights.
Who handles the purchase
Your checkout and receipt identify the seller handling your payment. If the purchase is “Sold through Link,” Stripe is the merchant of record. Link provides transaction support and order management, including subscription cancellation.
TrueWear provides the Hugo application and product support. Contact us for help with a refund. You may also use your purchase provider's support process. Our refund promise supplements the purchase provider's terms and your mandatory rights. It does not remove either.
Delivery, taxes and countries
Hugo is a digital service. There is no physical shipping. Payment verification activates access to the purchased service. Supported platforms, eligible countries, currency, renewal terms and the final total are shown before purchase.
Applicable taxes are shown at checkout. If checkout offers a local currency, it shows the converted amount before you pay. Availability depends on the market and purchase provider.
Cookies
How this website uses your browser.
This website
This website does not set cookies. It saves your analytics choice in your browser's local storage under “hugo.consent.v1”. If you accept analytics, it also saves a random visitor ID under “hugo.analytics.visitor.v1”. The ID is deleted from your browser when you withdraw consent, or on your next visit after your choice expires. If your browser blocks storage, your choice lasts only until you leave the page.
Interactive examples keep their state in memory and reset when you reload the page. There is no advertising tracker.
Third-party websites you open, including a payment provider's checkout, have their own cookie and privacy policies.
Your analytics choice
Accepting and rejecting each take one step, in the first-visit banner or in Privacy settings at the bottom of each page. Your consent is valid for 180 days. A choice made in one tab applies to your other open tabs of this site.
Withdrawing stops future collection and deletes the visitor ID from your browser. It does not automatically delete reports already sent. Contact us to ask about those.
Changes to browser storage
We update this notice when the website's storage practices change. If analytics start collecting something new, we ask for your choice again.
